As a lab manager at Nanogami, your role will entail involvement in various aspect of making our S1, DNA origami, surface chemistry and materials and chemicals lab work efficiently and facilitate important scientific discoveries.

You will be responsible to oversee the complete laboratory and tune and maintain standard operating procedures and equipment. As you hone your skills in this multifaceted role, your work will see a tangible impact on Nanogami’s research and the rapid growth of the lab in line with new research findings

What you will do

• Maintain an inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment, and place orders as needed.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for lab processes and protocols.
• Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to manage budget and optimise resource allocation.
• Implement, monitor and maintain quality control standards and procedures to ensure accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility of experimental results.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including handling of hazardous materials and waste disposal.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of nanotech methodologies and techniques.
• Training and assisting new lab members in good lab practises

Requirements

• You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., nanotechnology, molecular biology, genetics) or equivalent year of experience in the field.
• You have extensive experience in a laboratory setting, with a focus on DNA research or nanotechnology.
• You are familiar with state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, software, and data analysis tools.
• You possess excellent organisational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• You have a strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
• You can communicate effectively and have interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
• You can work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
• You speak fluent German, and have good English skills.

Desirable qualifications

• Proven track record of successful lab management
• Strong knowledge of nanotech methodologies and molecular biology techniques.
