Skeleton's Cell Development team is looking for a driven and experienced


Scientist

with the vision to match our ambition.

You would be developing the Supercapacitor cell to ensure performance targets for the final product are met.


Your tasks in the net zero journey:

  • Optimize electrode recipes to reach cell energy and power performance targets.
  • Create test matrices and plan electrochemical testing (coin-cells to prototype cells).
  • Analyze test data and present results to the Head of Supercapacitor Development.
  • Validate components from alternative suppliers or development partners.
  • Provide input for prototype coatings.
  • Ensure with coating engineers that electrode slurry properties meet large-scale production requirements.
  • Organize and assist in prototype cell building.
  • Provide input for product development timeline planning.
  • Provide expertise to resolve production and quality issues.

Requirements

We don’t expect to master it all. At Skeleton, you’ll have the support of the team and we work together to achieve our goals. However, there are requirements you should be able to fulfill to succeed in this role:

  • MSc or Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of industrial experience in Supercapacitor development.
  • Hands-on experience with electrochemical testing methods such as galvanostatic charging, cyclic voltammetry, and EIS.
  • Experience in interpreting results from physical characterization methods such as SEM, XRD, XPS, and ICP-MS.
  • Skills in data analytics and visualization.
  • Systemic problem-solving skills.
  • You are a good team player and you have a data-driven mindset.
  • Any single or a combination of the following experiences/skills is a bonus:
    • Experience in leading a research team.
    • Experience in setting up an Ramp;D lab (we are growing fast).
    • Experience in building and testing pouch cells.
    • Experience in handling large measurement datasets.
    • Materials research experience with Li-Ion- or high-power battery materials.
    • Hands-on experience in organic chemistry including synthesis, characterization, and evaluation.
