Location: Berlin office with remote working option

Term: Full-time, Permanent

Your role:

We manufacture studio monitors and headphones and we increasingly use software to drive DSP hardware products. We are already one of the leading players in the studio monitor market and wish to capitalise on that position in this and new product categories. We have a quite fresh development team and so they need the guidance of an experienced software product manager to lead the product direction.

We are looking for an experienced Head of Product Management Software. You will have the opportunity to live your strong enthusiasm for audio product development and to work on multidisciplinary products, both conventional and novel. You will be the major driver for our software product strategy for standalone software, plug-ins and as feature extension for our hardware products.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will own our software products and that will entail the following tasks:
  • Analysis and quantification of business opportunities for new software products and features.
  • Providing leadership and expertise in the implementation of product strategies.
  • Gathering market intelligence by observing audio trends, making visits to and conducting discussions with customers, business partners and end users to keep ADAM Audio ahead of the market curve.
  • Bringing in your understanding of studio workflows and network connected products.
  • Developing and maintaining product roadmaps for own products in alignment with the respective Ramp;D teams.
  • Working closely with the Director of Products and our Product Designer on new product concepts.
  • Together with project management and engineers - preparing business cases to justify project start-up and continuation of the project, also containing closing evaluations.
  • Being an active member of the Product Development team, encouraging everyone to point in the same direction to achieve the ideal product, for our customers’ and our own requirements.
  • Working with Marketing and Sales to launch the product.
  • Occasionally attending trade shows, both for set up and break down, and active participation on show days. Also, occasionally, setting up customer demos.
  • Writing clearly understandable software requirements and software user stories.
  • Working with Confluence, Jira, Trello or equivalent project management and sprint tracking systems.
  • Supporting backlog prioritisation based upon project and business priorities.
  • Being member of the management team and reporting to the CEO.

An Ideal candidate is likely to be/to have:

  • At minimum a Bachelor degree in a relevant engineering/science discipline.
  • Significant (5+ years) track record in product management of audio software products, ideally with loudspeakers, headphones or other audio equipment.
  • Fluent written and spoken English (our Product and Ramp;D teams are international).German at any level of proficiency would be a welcome bonus.
  • Ability to work independently, within international teams and with limited direct supervision.
  • Excellent presentation skills for communication to internal colleagues and external customers.
  • The ability to work on products optimised for cost (entry-level products), for performance (high-end products), and to balance the two (mainstream products).
  • Understanding of audio signal processing (analogue and DSP), mechanical design, acoustical design, electronics design.
  • Comfortable operating in the diverse worlds of subjective artistic customers and objective development engineers.
  • Ability to translate subjective market noises into detailed objective product requirements.

What you can expect:

  • You will be part of the team that develops and builds the best studio monitors worldwide, which not only artists like Adele, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc. work with, but have also benefited more than 5 Oscar-nominated films in the recent years alone.
  • A fresh, international team in which lively exchange among colleagues and mutual support are a matter of course.
  • The opportunity to take on challenging, responsible and varied tasks across departments (we build the plane while we fly it).
  • Long-term development prospects, flat hierarchies and entrepreneurial freedom (we grow and you develop with us).
