Founded at Stanford University, Walaris develops autonomous AI-based solutions focused on enhancing situational awareness. Our AirScout software platform uses artificial intelligence, sensor fusion, and edge computing to detect, classify, and track unwanted drones in protected airspace. Our cutting-edge technology is utilized by commercial, government and military users to increase airspace awareness in and around sensitive locations.

The controlling function needs to be initially established at Walaris to allow for better decision making and financial planning, both on company and project level. Once established, the controller will be the point of contact for the company management for strategic and operational decision making. The controller will spend the first weeks on the job being trained in project controlling to allow for an effective ramp-up.

For our office in Nuremberg, we are looking for a Controller (m/f/d) starting as soon as possible:

Responsibilities

• You take responsibility in the establishment of the company-wide controlling function with a focus on development and project controlling.
• You use your strong analytical and communication skills to prepare and communicate the yearly financial budget and monthly status updates.
• You are the lead on financial project planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
• You participate in the creation of the annual financial statement.
• You are responsible for the liquidity planning of the company.

Requirements

• You have a completed a degree in business administration or in a similar area.
• You have first work experience in controlling.
• You have excellent analytical skills, and you demonstrate perseverance, team spirit and are detailed-oriented.
• You are proficient with the use of MS Office and especially with Excel.
• In addition, you enjoy working in a team, have a good command of written and spoken English, and are willing to apply this in an international environment. Ideally, you write and speak German, too, or bring the willingness to learn German and to improve your language skills rapidly.
