About the role

Komoot currently employs over 130 team members working remotely across Europe, and we’ve big plans for 2024: We want to continue to grow our team significantly during this time. To support this, we are looking for a Payroll Managerto join the Finance Team who will be responsible for overseeing, managing, and administering the payroll in more than 20 European countries in which we currently employ people.

You will work closely with our local payroll providers, investigate and resolve payroll issues, and guarantee compliance with company and regulatory standards. You will support our employees in all payroll-related questions, including those related to maternity and paternity leave, sickness, and paid time off. You will also provide support and advice when employees relocate from one country to another. And it is up to you to ensure we comply with labor, income, and social insurance laws in each country.

Working closely with the finance team, you will ensure that all the payroll data is accurately reflected in our accounting records and that all the relevant accounts are reconciled and up-to-date.

You will contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of payroll policies and procedures including working closely with our HRIS.

What you will do
  • Partner with local payroll providers to process the monthly payroll in more than 20 countries, ensuring timely and accurate salary payments
  • Ensure the payroll data is properly recorded in our accounting records
  • Provide support to employees in all payroll-related questions
  • Maintain relevant data in the HRIS
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations in each country
  • Execution Prepare reports and analyses related to payroll
  • Work on projects with other members of the Finance or People amp; Organization teams

Requirements

You’ll be successful in this role if you
  • Have previous experience in a similar role
  • Have 3-5 years of relevant experience working with European payroll / payroll providers
  • Possess a solid understanding of payroll best practices and of accounting fundamentals
  • Have a good working knowledge of European labor legislation as it relates to payroll
  • Relevant professional education, whether it be in payroll or accounting
  • Have experience working remotely from a remote-first company and are an advocate for remote work
  • Thrive in autonomous environments, have a problem-solving attitude, and enjoy researching answers to novel questions
