INEOS Automotive Grenadier Built On Purpose

It’s a big task to launch a best-in-class 4x4 for those who depend on a vehicle as a working tool, and it’s our responsibility to do the best job possible. We’re building the Grenadier from the ground up, component by component. No corners cut and no easy options.

To make this vision a reality, we’ve assembled a team of world-class experts who are willing to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. We need more doers that think big. More thinkers that dive in and do. More people that make things happen. We’re a diverse workforce of tenacious, straight-talking experts with engineering at our core. We’re growing our world-class team and looking for spirited innovators and disruptors - those who thrive on a gritty challenge and will work through adversity in the pursuit of success. We’re doing things differently.

If this sounds like you, let’s talk.

Your role: The role is to plan, engineer and deliver both unique and universal packaging that is used throughout the prescribed supply chain to enable the manufacture of the Grenadier Vehicle. In fulfilling this role, it is expected the candidate will ensure execution of best-in-class packaging/container strategy for production material meeting the relevant KPI’s in terms of safety, cost, efficiency, quality, and the environment.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead packaging development process with all relevant stakeholders through packaging concept, packaging design, packaging trial and series implementation phase.
  • Align requirements of all internal and external stakeholders to plan best-in-class packaging concepts, that could include special load carriers, standard returnable packaging as well as disposable packaging.
  • Define and manage external packaging designers to deliver both concepts and packaging prototypes.
  • Evaluate cost per packaging based on part number level and drive most cost-effective solution based on relevant input factors.
  • Lead technical conversations around packaging design and drive analysis for continuous improvement and problem solving from concept to serial implementation.
  • Update and maintain all relevant packaging / container data in Plan-for-every-part (PFEP)
  • Ensure proper documentation of the aligned and signed-off packaging solutions.
  • Support creation and implementation of packaging standards and container management system.
  • Support packaging manager and indirect procurement during Quotation and Nomination process for the relevant container development.
  • Whilst respecting sound principles and processes, challenge the traditional automotive supply chain thinking, seek to emulate where appropriate the best practices from new players in the automotive market as well as other industries by adopting solutions where commercially viable.

What we are looking for:

  • Diploma or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a comparable technical education.
  • At least 3+ years’ experience gained at either a Tier 1 automotive supplier, an automotive OEM, or a packaging supplier.
  • Experience in planning, design, and development of packaging required.
  • Experience in operating software to analyse packaging solutions preferred.
  • Good knowledge in operating MS Office and ERP systems as well as basic knowledge of CAD / PLM software of advantage.
  • Demonstrable ability to prioritise tasks and have effective time management and analytical skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Able to manage stakeholder expectations and possesses strong influencing skills.
  • Results oriented, makes things happen, leads others and is open for change.
  • Must be innovative, challenging, and entrepreneurial, believes in continuous improvement and the application of lean principles.
