Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician (f/m/d) to join our innovative DNA origami team. This role is pivotal in our lab operations, focusing on DNA origami assembly reactions. Required Tasks

  1. Conduct DNA origami assembly reactions and purification according to established protocols
  2. Preparation of buffer solutions and oligonucleotide stock solutions for DNA origami assembly reactions
  3. Conduct laboratory experiments, assays, and analyses under the direction of senior laboratory staff
  4. Instruments and methods frequently used in your daily laboratory work include: gel electrophoresis, ultrafiltration, laser scanner, UV-Vis photometer, DLS, plate reader, HPLC
  5. Maintain laboratory records and ensure that all data is properly documented
  6. Collaborate with researchers to troubleshoot experiments and optimize or develop new laboratory techniques and protocols
  7. Perform routine laboratory maintenance tasks such as cleaning, organizing equipment and workspaces

Requirements

  • Training as a technical assistant (e.g. CTA, BTA, etc.) or Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in biochemistry, nanotechnology, molecular biology or in a related field
  • At least 1-2 years of experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in the biotech or life-science industry
  • Comprehensive knowledge of biochemistry techniques and laboratory procedures
  • Having strong focus and reliability in executing experimental work in the laboratory and the ability to follow instructions and work according to standardised protocols
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills to handle multiple experiments simultaneously while having a high flexibility in everyday laboratory work and adaptability to changing plans
  • An independent, self-motivated working manner with the ability to communicate and work effectively in an interdisciplinary team
  • Great English skills
Optional Skills, Experience and Knowledge
  1. Experience and knowledge in the field of DNA-nanotechnology, ideally in DNA-origami
  2. Good German understanding
