Job Description

Connexity is a worldwide leader in retail performance marketing with more than 20 years of e-commerce expertise to connect brands and retailers to consumers.
This is an excellent opportunity for a well-networked and proven seller to join a small European sales team. The right person for this role will be someone with several years’ of experience selling marketing solutions successfully into the German retail e-commerce market as an individual contributor.


Reporting to the VP, EU Business Development, you will be a positive, hungry, and results-driven salesperson, owning the German territory. You will possess an exceptional ability to build and maintain successful partnerships with our clients, partners and agencies to convert key opportunities into revenue.


The purpose is to build a network of contacts across retailer marketing teams directly as well as with marketing agencies to secure new advertising contracts for Connexity’s Performance Marketing business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a net new business revenue target, and has the remit and opportunity to shape their role and contributions in Germany. The role is needed to help eCommerce retailers grow their marketshare in Germany.


On a daily basis, the BDM has three primary responsibilities.
1. Build and manage a pipeline of ideal customers in Salesforce
2. Pitching and winning new business contracts
3. Working with internal teams to get campaigns activated and generating revenue.


Specific tasks include:

  • Building and delivering a sales plan for Germany
  • Researching and identifying the decision makers and targets for our products and services
  • Hunting prospects via email or phone to establish rapport and set up meetings
  • Understand client objectives and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Develop win partnerships with relevant partners, agencies or networks
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events
  • Preparing PowerPoint presentations, sales proposals and forecasts
  • Working with the internal department to move signed contracts into live business
  • Provide marketplace feedback and competitive intelligence to internal groups to improve and enhance product offerings.
  • Serve as external product consultant educating clients and agencies on product solutions and best practices, and ultimately grow existing business partnerships.
  • Frequent travel across Germany e.g. 25% of time

Requirements

  • You are fluent in German and English, with any other languages a plus
  • You must have relevant sales experience in the German retail e-commerce market. Including experience in selling digital marketing, paid media and or technology. Ideally from a Paid Search or Display background.
  • You are sales-driven and highly results-oriented with a customer-focused approach.
  • Have a highly sociable nature. Love networking opportunities and can build strong personal relationships quickly.
  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders - anticipating challenges and objections
  • Proven analytical and numerical aptitude.
  • A fast learner and keen to assimilate information to make commercial judgments and recommendations
  • Effectively operate in a fast-moving environment.
  • A multitasker and handles working on many different priorities simultaneously
  • Work and collaborate with a diverse group of internal cross-functional teams
  • IT Literate - Experienced and adept with Microsoft Office/Excel/PowerPoint/ CRM ideally Salesforce.
  • An experienced social seller with an established network across key relevant platforms e.g. LinkedIn amp; Xing
