We founded Holvi in 2011, in Helsinki. As self-employed people wading through oceans of paperwork, we noticed something funny going on traditional banks were giving us the cold shoulder. Why not help ourselves? We asked. And so, with time and effort (and lots of coffee), we mastered small business finance and Holvi was born.

Our vision is simple: Eliminate the distractions of financial admin and simplify work life, because running a business is hard enough. Small businesses shouldn’t have to worry about spreadsheets and lost receipts.

Right now, we’re looking for a Senior Service designer to join our team in Berlin. If you want to help us make self-employment a little easier, Holvi is for you.

Position: Senior Service Designer

We’re looking for a talented designer to help improve the services we provide to our customers.

As a core member of our Product team, you’ll work closely with POs, PMs, product designers and developers to explore the full product journey from end to end, shaping our product experience and keeping the user in focus at all times. We work and design in English, but our customers are mostly Finnish and German speaking. As a Service Designer, you will spend time with our customers gathering insight and shape our product to match the customers needs.

In addition to the Product team, you will be working with our Marketing team, Business Leads, Customer Support and Control team to make sure customer experience is consistent over different touchpoints.

Your work will have a huge impact, and the scope of this role is vast, as you’ll be a key contributor to our continued success.

Some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Spending time with our customers gathering insights that you will convert into functional specifications and UI mockups.
  • Working to understand Holvi’s business goals and user needs. Helping to plan, develop, refine and deliver clear, relevant product experiences.
  • Collaborating with other designers, product owners and developers while working on the design of new and existing features, information architecture, interaction design and overall customer experience.
  • Working closely with our Marketing team for example, to impart the inner workings of new features so they can best do their thing, or to ideate messaging and craft customer comms

In time we hope you’ll help scale our ability to:

  • Contribute in moving Holvi’s company culture forward with even more customer centric focus.
  • Dig into quantitative and qualitative data to discover opportunities to improve our product offering.

Requirements

This is for you if:

  • You have 5+ years of experience in Service/UX/Product design.
  • You are fluent enough in German to conduct business context user research with German speaking customers.
  • Your strengths are in research, analysis and understanding processes.
  • You can express ideas through flows and prototypes.
  • You have experience working with Figma.
  • You have experience in working with Agile development methods.
  • You enjoy challenging yourself and the team on how we work, helping to adopt new practices and tools.
  • You can work independently, planning and executing research projects with tangible results.

It's a plus if you:

  • Have previous experience in finance e.g banking, invoicing, accounting
  • Are familiar with the German fintech or accounting market
