What you’ll be doing

Talent Odyssey is seeking a skilled Chef de Partie to join a dynamic kitchen team at a partner boutique hotel in Berlin. The Chef de Partie will be responsible for a designated section of the kitchen, supporting consistent delivery of high-quality food, efficient service and adherence to safety and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day operations of an assigned kitchen section (hot, cold, pastry, grill, or other) and ensure timely production of menu items.
  • Prepare, cook and present dishes to the establishment's standards, maintaining portion control and consistent quality.
  • Coordinate with the head chef and sous chefs on menu execution, special events and daily prep lists.
  • Supervise and train junior kitchen staff and apprentices on techniques, station setup and cleanliness.
  • Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory counts and minimise waste through proper storage and rotation.
  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety, HACCP practices and workplace hygiene policies.
  • Contribute to menu development, recipe refinement and seasonal menu updates when required.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience as Chef de Partie or similar role in hotel or high-volume restaurant environments (min. 3 years).
  • Cooking techniques: strong knowledge across assigned station (sauté, roasting, pastry fundamentals if applicable).
  • Recipe & portion control: ability to read and follow standardized recipes, portion controls and plating specifications.
  • Kitchen equipment: competence with equipment and safe handling of knives and hot surfaces.
  • Food safety: working knowledge of HACCP and local health regulations; HACCP/food safety certification preferred.
  • Organisation: mise en place, stock rotation and time management during service.
  • Leadership: ability to train and supervise junior staff and maintain morale under pressure.
  • Availability: flexible hours including weekends and holidays; shift on rotation.
  • Languages: German approx. A2B1.
